Climate Action and CoP 26

Gibraltar's Commissioner for Sustainable Development and Future Generations, Prof Daniella Tilbury, will contibute to a dialogue on how to make CoP26 effecties in tackling climate action and breakdown. The panel is being convened by the All Parliamentary Party Group on Future Generations and will be held virtually on the 27th April 5pm local time. Our Commissioner will be speaking of the importance of adopting future fit frameworks so that climate action is effective in addressing the needs of current and future generations.
She will be accompanied by:
- Sir David King, former Chief Scientific Adviser to the government and Chair of the Centre for Climate Repair
- Alyssa Gilbert, Director of Policy and Translation, Grantham Institute for Climate Change
- Caroline Lucas, MP for Brighton Pavilion.
- Tim Crosland, Director of Plan B which advances strategic legal action on climate change.
Dialogue will be focused on key questions such as:
- What commitments are needed at COP?
- Will those commitments need to be legally binding?
- What lessons have we learned from Covid that should be fed into COP26 and how can COP support the world-wide recovery from Covid?
- What can politicians and civil society do in the lead up to make COP26 as effective as possible?
